Stop what you’re doing right now.
Give yourself a hug and say “I love me!” Do you feel ridiculous? Awkward? Why is this so uncomfortable?! Treating ourselves with love, respect and nourishment should be top on our priority list. Put yourself first so you can share your love with others for years to come. Would you ever tell your own child to stay up all night, stress, beat themselves up mentally, work without play, or exercise themselves into the ground? I doubt it.
So why would we do this to ourselves? What can we do to change this?
To answer these questions, I’d like to turn the mic over to someone who I think has this concept down. Meghan Telpner, Certified Nutritionist and Holistic Health Counselor, blogs over at Making Love in the Kitchen. Meghan is a wealth of nutritional knowledge and a proponent of natural living (my kind of lady!) but has especially inspired me in the areas of self care that extend beyond healthy eating. After discovering she had digestive disease she went to California for a total life transformation filled with yoga, meditation and lots and lots of soul nourishing. Taking all that she had learned, she was inspired to go back to school and now helps others do the same through her blog, personal coaching, cooking classes, e-tutorials and leading “Nourish Your Soul” retreats on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. I had the honor of chatting with her about how we can all nourish our souls a little bit more.

Nourishing Your Soul with Meghan Telpner
Thanks Meghan!!
You can get your own copy of Meghan’s guided meditation recording that I mentioned, here.
What do you do to nourish yourself? In what areas can you improve? Like I said, I’m making a point to get lots and lots of sleep!
